Pacific ENSO / El Nino index (MEI.v2) — bimonthly values 1979-present, sourced from NOAA PSL's Multivariate ENSO Index v2 (public domain). Positive values indicate El Nino conditions, negative values indicate La Nina. Each record's period approximates its bimonthly season to a single calendar month (e.g. the Dec-Jan DJ season maps to January) — see each record's own season field for the true 2-month window. Optional filters: ?year= (4-digit year), ?from=/?to= (4-digit year range), ?phase= (elnino|lanina|neutral, using the conventional +-0.5 MEI threshold). 24-hour cache. 572 records indexed.
